When this empty-nester couple decided it was past time to update their home and get the furniture they wanted to have, they turned to Heather Scott Home & Design–an interior design firm and boutique based in Austin, Texas! I love how they used cool and calm shades of blue, as well as cream and white, throughout the rooms (photographed here by Kimberly Davis) so the home flows and feels put together. I can't decide what I love more...the formal dining room with the patterned grasscloth wallcovering, or the family room with dramatic drapery panels and gorgeous built-ins! Ahhh! Is this not one of the prettiest offices ever?! It belongs to Katelyn James, a Virginia-based wedding photographer who is just as obsessed with turquoisey hues as I am! This space might seem a little familiar to long-time readers as we toured the office in her previous home and it definitely has the same vibe–and pretty paint color: Sherwin Williams “Waterscape”! I love the architectural details in this room so much, and the breezy curtains that she added later! She had that same Pottery Barn corner desk in her last office too, which I loved so much I ended up buying for myself! What I'd love to have now though?? Those french doors! One of the things I wish our home had was a mudroom...they are so handy here in Minnesota! This bright and beautiful space designed by Mollie Openshaw of Design Loves Detail would be perfect for me! Benjamin Moore's Covington Blue is the makes a stunning backdrop for the white built-ins and colorful accessories! The fabulous painting by Carrie Schmitt is my favorite thing in the entire room! Closets and Storage Foyer Great Paint Colors Mudroom

Not only is this nursery oh-so-sweet, it was also done on a budget! Katie Wilson wanted a bright and girly space for her daughter Hayden, and used the beautiful curtain fabric she found at JoAnn's for her jumping off point! (With enough left for the crib skirt and bumper!) Love how the pretty wall color, Vintage Teal by Behr, pulls the teal out of the floral print! After splurging on the fabric, she refinished existing furniture, shopped thrift stores, and created her own art to fill the space. The pink crib is my favorite! It was actually Katie's when she was a baby...spruced up with some pink spray paint and a non-toxic water-based gloss finish. Again, love it with that fabric! Did you see the feature about "chic sheds" in the recent issue of Country Living? This was one of my favorites! The little slice of heaven photographed by Brian Woodcock is located in Harpersville, Alabama and belongs to Barbara Adkins, the owner of Black Sheep Antiques. The sunny space primarily functions as her art studio, but she's also been known to use it for hosting dinner parties! Can't think of a better way to greet guests than with those gorgeous doors! They were actually Barbara's best junking find...can you believe that's the original paint? Love Benjamin Moore's "Spring Sky" up towards the ceiling too! Great Paint Colors Outdoors Painted Door Studio

This bright and beautiful Auckland, New Zealand kitchen was designed by Susan Templer, owner and principal of Templer Interiors. Isn't it absolute perfection?! The droolworthy space (captured by Larnie Nicolson) has so much to love...a pretty wall color (Resene's Robin's Egg Blue), gorgeous farmhouse sinks, classic subway tile, a great mix of shimmery hardware, stunning faucets, custom-made cabinets, high-end appliances and porcelain floor tiles made to look like oak! The colorful Italian glass pendants add such a unique touch too! And how handy would it be to have that little butler's pantry right off the kitchen?? That's where I'd keep all my messes! Dining Room Great Paint Colors Kitchen

Sorry to miss posting yesterday! Things don't always go as planned when traveling...especially when you have a two-year-old! Anyway we're happy to be home–even if there is still snow here! Minnesota really is a beautiful place to live, and home to so many talented designers–one of my favorites being Martha O'Hara Interiors! I adore her way with color, especially in this home! The turquoise bedroom (painted Sherwin-Williams Spa SW 6765) and bathroom covered in a fab Thibaut wallpaper completely stole my heart. The cozy window seat and built-ins are perfection!
